Drag rule tiles into the slots, reorder them to set priority, then run, pause, step or change the speed, and inspect any creature. Mouse and touch work best. With the keyboard, the arrow keys move between slots, Enter opens the tile list, Delete clears a slot and Ctrl+Z undoes.
You can pause the simulation, step through one decision at a time, rewind and slow it down. Extra rule slots and forgiving limits (more time, and spare zaps and planks) are available as assists, and hints come in three steps.
